Key facts (last checked: 30 Oct 2026)

Units follow the UK / US switch in the header (cm and kg, or inches and lb).

Infant fare and lap-infant age

Infants under 2 for the whole journey travel on the lap on the INF fare, which Iberia says ranges from 10% to 30% of the companion's ticket. A baby in their own seat needs a CHD fare and an approved car seat. Iberia allows travel at any time after birth but recommends waiting 7 days.

Infant baggage allowance

INF and CHD tickets get the same free baggage allowance as the adult, plus a pushchair or car seat. You can also carry a bag with the baby's food, drink and flight essentials in addition to your hand luggage.

Pushchair and stroller rules

Free. Take it to the aircraft door: if there's space it can come into the cabin, otherwise crew put it in the hold and return it at the aircraft door. Not guaranteed at every airport; where buggies are banned in terminals, or on connections, collect it at the baggage carousel. Or check it in free with your bags.

Cabin: If there is space in the cabin you can take the buggy with you. Iberia doesn't give buggy dimensions; its 10 kg cabin bag limit is 56 × 40 × 25 cm.

Car seats and child restraints (CRS)

Own seat (CHD fare) requires a car seat approved for road use (ECE R44/R129) with TÜV or FAA aircraft certification, no wider than 42 to 44 cm. An adult can travel with 2 infants only if one of them is in an approved car seat.

Bassinet or cot

Long-haul: comfort cots for babies under 8 months and up to 11 kg (18 kg on A321XLR), about 75 × 34 cm, on request through Iberia booking offices, subject to availability; seat charges may apply depending on fare. Not in Premium Economy on the A350.

Baby food and milk

Baby food, drink and items needed for the flight are exempt from the liquids rules; milk, juice and other liquids for children can go through security.
